Last night, the president showed us who he really is: rude, disrespectful, arrogant, despicable, no integrity, class, or grace, vulgar, a liar, and a racist. Mayo Angelou said, “When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time.” Many Americans didn’t believe a president could be a white supremacist. We didn’t learn from Charllostville in 2017. Last night, when Chris Wallace asked the president if he would condemn white supremacists in the country, Trump said, “Stand back, stand by.” That is a clarion call to arms! I never thought I’d ever hear a president of the United States say such things. It is very important for the American people to remember that in 1933, Adolf Hitler came to power in Germany using the same ideology. If Trump doesn’t get re-elected in November, will he put this country in its second civil war because he won’t leave the White House?
Psalm 31: 18 states, “Let the lying lips be put to silence; which speak grievous things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous.” When the president attacked Joe Biden about his son, Beau, my heart sank. We owe a great debt to our service men and women for willingly sacrificing for our lives. They are not, as Trump says, “loser and suckers!” Trump went lower than I thought possible, but that’s what a true totalitarian leader does. They lead by putting people down to elevate themselves. Now the whole country knows how despicable and mean the president really is.
When a presidential debate can’t be controlled by an exasperated narrator, America is in trouble. Trump has no plan for anything, just more of his dangerous remarks. Joe Biden tried very hard to speak to the American people about his plans but was continually rudely interrupted by Trump. What are we teaching our children: that people don’t need to be civil with each other, that the Bad Boys were given a call to arms, that there is very little love in our country because might is right, that it’s good to be a bully, and that God is no longer at the center of the American heart? Shame, shame, shame on the man who thinks he’s above the law and is better than any other American. We need change; we need Joe Biden, a man of God in the White House.
I…we…see you now, Mr. President.
