In Psalm 27, Book 1, we evaluate our own sense of fear, salvation, and light. What really affects our faith? Is it God or some other “worldly influence?”
Psalm 27
Should we fear anything when God is our light and our salvation?
Do we accept that God defended us when our enemies, our foes, and the wicked wanted to defeat us and devour us?
Despite being surrounded by evil, whom does your heart belong to?
Are you confident when foes rise up against you?
I will dwell in the Lord’s house, behold His beauty, and seek wisdom in His temple to know Him.
He will protect me in His home, hide me in His tabernacle, and set me on a rock.
I will raise my joyful voice in praise to the Lord our God.
Hear my cries and answer my prayers with mercy, O Lord.
I will seek Your face when my heart cries out to You.
I will seek Your face in love and pray for Your help in times of darkness.
If my family and friends forsake me, You will be my saving grace.
Lead me, O Lord, in a safe path so that I may know Thy way when enemies knock at my door.
Defend me against my enemies and all who bear cruel, false witness against me.
My soul seeks Your goodness, Lord, in the midst of much turmoil.
I patiently wait on the Lord for courage and strength to see me through life’s difficulties.
