It’s Thanksgiving weekend, and I am so thankful for all that God has made possible in my life. My plans, dreams, and goals have been done with careful “baby-steps,” but God’s will for me has always been bigger. He is not contained by “limited experiences, resources, expectations, socioeconomic backgrounds, traditions, education, or culture.” (Unshakeable by Christine Caine) My heart and mind are open to His plans, and I will let Him guide me.
I have not always seen opportunity where there is nothing. He has found potential where I have seen failure. Where I have been happy to be content, he continues to push me to be better and to strive for more important consequences. He sees strength where I see weakness. When I have found ends to things, He gives new beginnings to things I see as impossible. When I look at the past and the present, He sees possible futures. He is the light in everything I am, do, and want.
I am so thankful for His help at seeing my life through His eyes. Although my plans haven’t always led me where I need to go, I am thankful that His plans for me have and are crystal-clear. Isaiah 55: 8-11 (KJV) says, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” Thank you, Lord, for my life and everything therein.
