Mary Magdelene and Simon Peter went to the tomb, and the stone had been rolled away. They carefully entered the tomb, and Christ’s body was not there. Only His death wrap was laying on the pier. They cried and shouted, “He is risen!” Fearing soldiers would come and arrest them, they rushed off to tell the disciples the good news!
“This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” He is risen! Those words warm my heart. From His last words on the cross, Jesus Christ gave us eternal life, if we only believe in Him. He took the world’s sins on with each strike of the whip on His back. With His blood, we are forgiven.
If we allow Him into our hearts, the pain, fear, and troubles we have will become blessings, not hindrances. If we allow Him into our lives, peace, hope, and love will carry us through this life and onto eternal life.
“Christ is risen, Alleluia! Sing we to our God above, praise eternal as his love; Praise him, all you heavenly hosts, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.” (365-Evangelical Lutheran Worship) Let Christ take on your earthly troubles and you will be granted eternal life.
