In the bleakness of winter, we often forget that even though the wind blows strong, earth and water are made hard like iron and granite, and snow keeps falling day after day, heaven and earth cannot stop Jesus Christ from coming down to us. A simple stable was where He was born, despite the dirt, stink, and animals in residence. We may be poor or rich, but we can all give our hearts to the new-born baby, even in these gloomy dark days after Christmas.
Our joy comes from our relationship with God, who gives us peace, hope, joy, comfort, and love. We must remember that our contentment is possible when we shift out hearts, minds, and souls towards Jesus Christ. Experience Him in everything you do, and ask for Him to be present in all your moments. With His help, you will be strengthened and will be blessed with abundant joy and grace.
Henry Ward Beecher said, “Every tomorrow has two handles. We can take hold of tomorrow with the handle of anxiety or with the handle of faith.” With the dawn of 2026, let us be brave in our love; let us be hopeful in His power; let us be aware of His presence as it fills us with peace; and let His joy make us strong in all we do. Let us give Him our hearts for He needs us, too. We are made more prosperous by His abundant love, His Word, and His blessings. Hang onto your faith, onto your Father’s promises, and onto the tiny manger where our lives were blessed so many windy, cold, and snowy, mid-winter’s nights so many years ago. Give Him your heart now and forever more. He is knocking at the door of your heart. How will you answer?
