“As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love. This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.” (John 15: 9-10 and 12 (KJV).
Love…something we all need, search for, and crave, but love doesn’t exist in so many parts of the world, even in our own hearts. We need to work at love because it is essential to us, almost as much as water and bread. There is no greater love than to lay down your life for your friends. We are Christ’s friends when we do what He asks of us. He does not call us servants because He tells us everything about His Father. We did not choose Him, but He chose us. Christ told us to go and bear good fruit so that God would give us what we need in His name. By giving us these commands, we can go into the world to spread His Gospel and to love one another.
