Have you ever wondered where your excitement, your joy, in life comes from? Are you living your life with those same things because you know Jesus Christ? Both questions have the same answer: faith in Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit as your teacher.
The Holy Spirit gives us the knowledge we need when we need it. By teaching us about Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit leads us into an understanding of our role in the world through Christ’s love. The Holy Spirit gives us wisdom and awakens our memories so that our present circumstances may benefit from Bible verses we learned years ago as children. As a part of the Holy Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit allows us to realize the full extent of our emotions, the love and grace of Jesus Christ in our hearts, and the awesome and all-powerful truth of God.
As a teacher myself, I have hoped that the things I have taught my students would encourage them to influence and teach others. I believe we should be like children, soaking up new knowledge throughout our lives. When the mind stops reaching for new ideas, it will stop living. By allowing the Holy Spirit to enlarge our minds, hearts, and souls, we become energized like little children, always exploring, always delighting in, and always joyfully moving excitedly through the world.
When you wake up tomorrow morning, be like a little child. Excitedly say to the Lord, “Teach me, Lord; I’m listening, wide-eyed and bushy-tailed!” Being mindful of communicating with your inner-child and with the Holy Spirit as your teacher, go to God for all of your questions, and He will give you rest, not a sleeping rest but a playful rest.
