I know angels have surrounded me for years; I have felt their security and kindness in many situations. More recently, I have felt Christ’s presence in almost every moment of my life. I hear His voice; I feel His hand on my shoulder. In the fog of the pandemic, I have seen Him cradling me in His arms as I sleep. Even in times when I think He isn’t by my side, I feel His spirit in my heart telling me, “Fear not, for I am with you.”
I will never stop looking for Christ among my family and friends and in every situation. He will always find me because He is the Good Shepherd who looks for every lost lamb. His voice is like no other, and it stays inside you like a flame you can’t put out. He has made me free in the love and respect I feel from those who truly love me. He is closest to me when I pick up my cross. He’s there bearing its weight.
“If Christ can love me despite all of my mistakes, then no one is unworthy of His love,” said Saint Peter as he faced his own crucifixion in the area that is today called the Vatican Square. No matter what sins we have committed, Christ forgives us by His death on the cross. Bu His resurrection, we are given an Eternal home far surpassing anything here on earth. For my remaining years, I will continue to knock on Christ’s door. By His love and grace, I will feel His presence and know that I am not alone. Nothing is impossible with God.
