The Serenity Prayer has always been a part of my prayer habits. Today, I write my own prayer around that prayer.

Grateful for His Love

Lord, grant us the peace to accept the things we cannot change.

Grant us the courage to change the things we can and the wisdom to know the difference.

With that wisdom, use us as instruments of Thy peace, love, light, hope, and grace in a world that has forgotten who You are.

We ask healing of our hearts so that the anger, hatred, violence, and vitriol may be stopped throughout our world.

Help us to be Your loving children and help us to love one another as You have loved us.

Help us to be thankful caretakers of Your beautiful creation.

Grant us the ability to help others and to be better people.

Walk beside us, Lord, and let us know Your abiding love will always sustain us.

Whatever else You see that we need, we are indeed grateful for.
