Today is Father’s Day, and I would like to pay tribute to my Heavenly Father. He has walked beside me since my birth, held my hand through difficult times, helped me make decisions, healed me of health issues, and given me everything I have needed and wanted. Without Him, there is no Deborah Ann, no teacher, no poet, no author, no composer.
God Created Our World
God created our world, and my ears hear nature singing the music of the universe.
God created our world, and I marvel at all the trees and rocks, skies and seas.
God created our world, and the birds sing carols as the morning shines brightly over the white lilies in His praise.
God created our world, and He is fair beyond fair with a quiet passing as He whispers to me about everything.
God created our world, and lest I forget, wrong is never as strong as the will of my Father.
God created our world, and even though my heart is sad at times, the heavens sing with shouts of praise for my Lord and King.
God created our world; Hallelujah, A-men!
(Paraphrase of the hymn, “This Is My Father’s World,” written by Maltbie D. Babcock (1858- 1901)…Evangelical Lutheran Worship. Minneapolis, Minnesota: Augsburg Fortress Publishers, 2006.)
