Why are certain elements of the American population trying to stop our children from knowing about the Halocaust. about slavery, and about 9/11? Are we trying to protect them or are we trying to keep them from knowing the truth about what really happened during our history? It seems to me that too many people don’t want to know the truth, and therefore, our children need to be protected. Our children will not understand these atrocities and historical events unless they really can learn about them. Historical events will happen again because our children do not understand what caused them. Just because our children have not experienced them does not mean these events will not happen again. I am angered by some states trying to control what our children learn because of certain Americans who feel our children do not need to know about certain historical events. I am worried that many Americans are not concerned about where our country is being led.
People want what they are used to, but if what we are used to is not working, why are we not working to improve what is wrong? Edmund Burke said, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” If we do not react to the conditions and attitudes prevalent in American society, who will? I have always said that our children are worth more than what we are giving them; they are worth a better world than what we are leaving them. In the final analysis, God gave us a beautiful world. What are you doing to teach our children about the truth? Do not be apathetic! ACT!
