Psalm 121, Book V, acknowledges that when we need help, we should look up to the hills. God lives in those hills and gives us what we need to survive any trouble. Similarly, there’s a commercial on television asking Americans to look up for hope after a horrendous and deadly year and a half of COVID-19, to get vaccinated so that we can surmount this plaque. The non-believers don’t care about anybody or themselves because they refuse to get vaccinated, they mock believers in God, and they ridicule our prayers to Him for help amidst this pandemic. My help comes from God, not some unscientific, would-be-god philosopher. God has walked beside me through many trials, and I have never felt lost or alone. Only those who deny God’s existence and do not seek His guidance will succumb to the fires of disbelief and hatred.
Psalm 121
My help comes from the hills.
My help comes from the One who made the heavens and the earth.
The Lord will not sleep until my feet are safe on the rock.
He protects Israel and shall not slumber nor sleep.
The Lord is my keeper, and He is the shade on my hands.
The sun and moon will not harm me in the day or in the night.
The Lord will preserve me from evil, and He will preserve my soul.
He will keep me safe when I travel now and forever.
