Psalm 46, Book II, offers us hope that God is our safe place and our strength in all times. By being quiet, we can feel His awesome power and know that He, alone, will stop wars and bring peace to the earth.
Psalm 46
God is our refuge and strength, our constant help in troubled times.
Even though the earth may move and the mountains may disappear into the seas, I will not fear.
Even though the waters may roar and the mountains may swell and shake, I will not fear.
The streams of the river will make God’s city and the tabernacles holy.
God reigns in the middle of the city, and it will not be moved.
God will help His holy city in His own good time.
The earth melted at His voice, and the heathen were angered while kingdoms were moved.
The Lord of hosts is with us, and Jacob’s God is our refuge.
Come to His city to see the works of the Lord and know He makes things of the earth desolate.
He causes wars to cease by breaking the bow, cutting the spear, and burning the chariots.
Be quiet and know that He is God; He will be exalted among the heathen and in all the earth.
The Lord of hosts is with us; Jacob’s God is our refuge.
