When we enter those valleys in our lives when all the colors disappear and only grays are hanging over our heads, it’s time to believe in the truth, the light, and the way. Returning from the troubles of our lives to a much more quiet life, what do we do with our lives? Do we climb the mountains or do we choose to stay in the valleys? We can do odd jobs to get by or we can choose a more challenging path. We can walk by the less fortunate and handicapped on the roads we travel, or we can choose to dig in and let others know that they are loved. We can fail at our personal relationships, or we can choose to take a stand until the problems are fixed. We can decide that nothing is worth fighting for, or we can become what someone needs at that troubled moment in their life. When we lose loved ones and friends, we can choose to ignore their pleas for help, or we can love these special people while we have them.
We are all looking for a sign, a purpose, or a hope to make our lives more important for the world. As we chase the one “big thing” that we think will make a difference, do we go “full speed ahead,” or do we put the “brakes on” to stop our progression to a more positive future? There is no greater journey for any of us than the one that leads us home, to whatever form that place has for us. We must realize that God sends His angels to help make our lives easier and more fulfilling. Only by believing in Him do we accomplish the next steps on our roads to self-fulfillment and love.
There are no question marks in how we approach our lives, only possibilities. Put your hands in the hands of the man who walks on water, and your life will have a heart-driven purpose. The things you thought were impossible will be attainable, and every mountain will be a mole hill! With faith the size of a mustard seed, we can accomplish any thing! Before you can say, “Thank you,” the colors will return to your life, and the grays will be only an after-thought. These are the lessons of one who has walked those valleys and climbed those mountains to the place called the truth, the light, and the way, and my heart…oh my heart…is filled with God’s promises of a life worth living.
