God was there when I was born, and He’ll be there when I’m old. He was there in my baptism and waited to see my life unfold. He walked beside me as a child and gave me faith the size of a mustard seed. I wandered off in my youth to find the demons of the world.
He was by my side as I heard the Word with gladness. Mom and dad taught me to praise the living Lord, the one I now belong to. I found three to share my life with, and He made our hearts become one. He’ll make my words and thoughts rhyme from the morning until the night.
In my middle years, He will guide me through the night and help me complete the paths He gave me. When my eyes begin to fall asleep at night, He will watch over me with His angels and carry me through until the morning.
He has always been there for me, from my birth and through the unfolding of my life. He carries me in the palms of His hands and catches me when I fall. Truly, I say to the world, His greatest gift to me was His only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ, who died on a cross so that my sins would be forgiven. When my time comes, I shall see Him, face to face, and I will know the glory of His eternal love. He is all around me, and I am His.
