When do you praise the Lord…every day, every week, only on Sundays? We need to praise Him every minute of every day because He gives us life and everything in it. We are nothing without Him. Psalm 148 tells us who should praise Him.
We are to praise Him in the heavens and in the heights.
All the angels and all His hosts are to praise Him.
The sun and moon and all the stars are to praise Him.
The heavens and the waters above those heavens are to praise Him.
In the name of God, all who were created by His commands are to praise Him.
His decree will not be ignored because all were established by Him.
All creatures and all dragons in the depths are to praise Him.
Fire, hail, snow, vapors, and stormy winds fulfill His Word.
Mountains, hills, fruit trees, cedars, beasts, cattle, creeping things, and things that fly … all are to praise Him.
Kings, people, princes, and judges of the earth, young men, maidens, old men, and children are to praise Him.
The Lord’s name is excellent, and His glory is above the earth and heaven.
His horn is exalted among the people and His saints, even the children of Israel, praise Him.
Praise Him all ye of the earth and all creatures.
Why do we praise our Lord and Savior? Because He has given us the things we need to make the earth more prosperous: acceptance of the past but not reliance on it, the ability to pray to Him for help, strong decisions to make our priorities really matter, the passion to fill our hearts with love and caring for others, and the persistence to improve our world for the betterment of man and all creatures who live therein. Our enemies fear God’s Word because He fights beside us with the Holy Spirit as His weapon. They may take our house, goods, honor, child, spouse, or our lives, but they will not win this battle. With His love, we stand atop the mountain, and the Kingdom is ours forever.
