One CNN reporter said that this debate’s purpose was “to make people want to vote,” but what American voter does not want to know what Joe Biden and Donald Trump are proposing for the next four years? However, all the debate showed was what Joe has magnificently done in the past four years and how Trump divided this nation, some would say beyond repair. The startling fact was the mental decline of Joe since his State of the Union address this year. This was not his best debate. Trump just criticized and lied his way through his usual cruel presence.
The aftermath of this brutal debate showed how much they hated each other. Even with his short responses, Joe tried to answer all of the monitors’ questions. Trump, on the other hand, blatantly refused to answer three questions: one on climate change, one on child care, and one on the drug crisis. There were also times when this journalist thought the monitors needed to stop Trump from interrupting the questioning process. Those were on the economy, on immigration, Trump’s interference with Joe’s answer time, and Trump’s continual returning back to the last question with immigration things. Once the the name calling began and nerves were rattled, the monitors should have turned off the microphones on both candidates. What our nation saw was two adults who could not be civil to each other. It is this voter’s opinion that this debate should not have happened, or the rules for it should have been more thoroughly thought through with monitors who had the will to stop things that were wrong.
All I know is that America is in trouble, and the world saw how much. The countless lies that Trump told to counter Joe’s excellent policies were atrocious and showed how he will rule, and I do mean rule as a dictator. He will destroy America, destroy our Constitution, and everything we used to stand for. I am so worried about Joe’s decline and the fact that there is a push to ask him to step down by some Democrats. He is like a grandfather to me and to every American who stands for the truth. He needs to be respected, not shafted. I hesitate to think that America has sunk so low that it does not defend its senior citizens, but Joe decided to run in 2020 and it should be his decision to either continue or to pass the baton. Either way, we need Joe because if Trump comes back to power, we will no longer exist as a democracy. That fact, alone, has many TRUE AMERICANS thinking of moving to Canada, that is those who cherish the difference between right and wrong and who believe that we must trust in God, alone!
I still believe in the goodness of man and in this basic concept: with love, all things are possible. We have a lot of problems, but we also have a lot of possibilities to make our country into a better place for all. I pray that God will reign in the hearts of every American to keep God at the center of everything we do, not to re-instate a man who wants to be a god. Today, I am placing my faith in Him.
