My life is an endless song, above all earthly sorrows.
A new creation is known through a sweet and distant hymn.
Though tumult and strife, my ears hear the same beautiful tune.
It echoes in my soul and makes me want to sing its good news.
When my joys and comforts die, I know my Redeemer lives.
As day passes into night, He gives me more music in the night.
Christ’s peace refreshes my heart and is an eternal, running fountain.
Because I live in Him, all things are mine, and the music keeps me singing.
Clinging to the Rock of my Salvation, no storm will ever disturb the peace I feel.
Jesus Christ is Lord over all the earth and heaven, an still, my song rises to Him.
Robert Lowry, 1826-1899, penned the lyrics and the music to this hymn, “My Life Flows On in Endless Song.” As I sit here at my dining room table, looking out at this first, beautiful Sunday in October, I feel the music bubbling up out of my soul and my heart. Nothing can shake the love I have for my God, my Father, for with Him, all things are possible, and I am His child. So with love, joy, peace, and honor, I keep singing.
